Ógras: Cé muid? - Who are we?

Bunaíodh Ógras, Ógeagraíocht Chonradh na Gaeilge i 1969 le deis a thabhairt do dhaoine óga teacht le chéile ag clubanna, campaí agus ócáidí eile ag feidhmiú trí mheán na Gaeilge. 

Ógras is the Irish language Youth Organisation founded by Conradh na Gaeilge in 1969 to give young people the opportunity to come together in youth clubs, camps and events run through the medium of Irish. 

Cuspóirí - Objectives

  • Chun an Ghaeilge a chur chun cinn tríd an spás agus an deis an teanga a labhairt agus a fhoghlaim, lasmuigh don seomra ranga, a chur ar fáil do dhaoine óga.

  • Clár lán-Gaeilge a chur ar fáil do dhaoine óga atá beoga, éagsúil agus eagraithe; a spreagann machnamh cruthaitheach, féinmhuinín, forbairt sóisialta agus scileanna teanga, trí spraoi, gníomhaíochtaí, spóirt, cleachtaí cultúrtha agus caitheamh aimsire.​​

  • Promoting the Irish Language by providing the space and the opportunity for young people to speak and learn Irish outside of the classroom environment. 

  • Providing an Irish Language programme for young people that is lively, varied and well-organised; that inspires creative thinking, self confidence, social development and language skills, all through fun, activities, sports, cultural exercises and pastimes.

Tá ár mhúinteoirí agus ceannairí ardoilte agus ardcháilithe. Tá gach baill foireann ag obair na campaí grinnfhiosraithe ag na Gardaí.

Our teachers and leaders are highly skilled and qualified. All staff working at the camps are Garda vetted.

Cealú/Aisíoc - Cancellations/Refunds

Chun do chlárúcháin a chealú agus chun a bheith i dteideal aisíocaíocht 75% a fháil, ní mór fógra scríofa a sheoladh chuig Ógras roimh 24 Bealtaine 2019. Ní bheidh aon chealú faighte théis an dáta sin intofa don aisíocaíocht seo. Chun cealú, le do thoil chur ríomhphost nó scríbhinn chugainn leis an eolas seo a leanas: Ainm agus Seoladh an Bhaill, Láthair an Champa, Fáth don Chealú. 

Má tá orainn aon bhaill a scoireadh nó má fhágann aon bhaill go luath d'aon fháth, ní féidir linn aisíoc a thabhairt.  

To cancel your registration and be eligible for a 75% refund, Ógras must receive written notice prior to the 24th May, 2019. Any cancellation thereafter will NOT be eligible for this refund. To cancel, please email or write to us with the following information: Member's Name(s) and Address, Reserved Camp Location, Reason for Cancellation. 

If any member is dismissed from the camp or departs early for any reason, no refunds can be granted.

Éiteas an Champa - The Camp's Ethos 

 

Children attending the summer camp do not need to be fluent in the Irish Language but should have a basic understanding, and should be studying Irish at school.


  •  

We do take photographs at the camps which are used for promotional purposes only and we will not state any members' names with any of these photographs.


  •  

Bad behaviour, bad language or answering back is not permitted at the camp.


  •  

It is expected that each member will show respect - to themselves, all staff members and to other participants for the duration of the camp. 


  •  

Parents/Guardians should ensure that a teacher/leader is present before leaving their children at the camp.


  •  

Children should not be dropped off more than 10 minutes before the camp is due to begin.


  •  

Parents/Guardians must collect children promptly at 2.30pm each day. In the case that children are not collected on time, a charge of €5 will be incurred for each 10 minutes after the camp finishes.



  • Mobile phones should be switched off for the duration of the camp 10am-2.30pm each day.
     


  •  

Chewing gum is not permitted at the camp.
 


  •  

Parents/Guardians should ensure that their child/children understand these rules.
