Summer Camps

Ógras Summer Camps were Online this year!
Usually, Ógras run Irish-language day camps all over the country in July every year, but of course this year we had to get creative to make sure that our services are still available for you, and we are delighted to say that we were able to adapt our, usual extremely popular Summer Camp schedule to suit an online format!
Ógras's Online Summer Camps 2020 are over, but keep an eye on our social media (links above) or
sign up to our Newsletter here!

Camp Details
Camps this year are at a reduced rate of €10 per young person, and every camp runs for 1.5 hours daily, from Monday to Friday for their alotted week,  10am to 11.30am (excluding week 4 - see note below). The age group for camps this year is 8-14 years.
We will be aiming for 8-10 young people in each camp session with a maximum of 12. This limit is to facilitate the opportunity for the young people to learn and have fun, and of course to ensure things are manageable for the camp teachers, facilitators and leaders with a focus on quality over quantity.

Ógras Summer Camps will be back in July 2021 - Keep an eye on the page to register!!

Our Summer Camps go very well and the young people who attend enjoy themselves immensely, so we are delighted that that we don't have to disappoint our regulars and new members looking for fun activities through Irish this Summer, even during the lockdown. The camps present young people with the opportunity to use the Irish they have in a playful and enjoyable environment, while picking up new words and phrases as they go. The camps build the young people’s self-confidence and use of the language - they gain personal, social and creative skills, relationship building skills, and a general understanding of society and community through fun, active participation in a safe environment. We are proud to always receive excellent feedback from the young people who attend our camps - and their parents! - year on year.
We are of course here to answer any questions you might have too, so if you need any extra info you may email us here and we will get back to you as soon as possible
We are very grateful to Foras na Gaeilge and to the Dept. of Children and Youth Affairs for supporting the camps through funding.
