Ógras run Irish-language day camps all over the country in July every year. This year, Ógras will run lots of camps in Leinster, Connacht and Munster, over various dates.
The camps run from 10am to 2.30pm daily Mon-Fri for their alotted week. The age group for camps is 6-12 years (1-6 Class).
These camps go very well and the young people who attend enjoy themselves immensely. The camps present them with the opportunity to use the Irish they have in a playful and enjoyable environment, while picking up new words and phrases as they go. The camps build the young people’s confidence, both in their use of the language and in themselves, as they gain personal, social and creative skills, relationship building skills, and a general understanding of society and community through fun, active participation in a safe environment.
Registration for 2019 Summer Camps will open closer to the Summer, watch this space! If you need info in the meantime, you may call the office on 01 475 1487 or email us here for more.
We are very grateful to the Dept. of Children and Youth Affairs and to Foras na Gaeilge for supporting the camps through funding.
